Steam Deck: launch support has limits

No full support at launch

The September 29 launch announcement (external site) says the team is improving the Deck experience. This does not prove that the game cannot start, that Valve has verified it, or that a particular frame rate is stable.

If stable local handheld performance is your purchase requirement, wait for device-specific updates or measurements showing build, area, resolution and settings. The desktop 1080p/30 FPS and 1440p/60 FPS targets do not establish Deck performance. This guide has no hands-on Deck test or universal settings prescription.

GeForce NOW: check your service before buying

The publisher confirmed launch availability on GeForce NOW. A streamed Windows game does not establish a native Mac, Linux, handheld or console version.

Before choosing this route, check the service’s current game catalog, supported store, account or game-ownership requirements, region, device and connection requirements. Those service-specific details are not verified here, so this page does not promise that a subscription or a particular device can play it in your region. Cloud streaming needs a connection; the FAQ’s offline-PC statement refers to local play.

Choose your next step

  1. You have a Windows PC
Use the PC requirements and performance guide before buying; a listed GPU name alone is not the full target.
  2. You need a console or native Mac/Linux version
Wait for a specific platform announcement. Do not treat “looking into” platforms as a confirmed port or date.
  3. You are considering Deck or cloud play
Decide which route you need first, then verify its own support conditions. Neither a cloud announcement nor a desktop specification is a local handheld benchmark.

For local-PC saving and offline boundaries, see the saving summary. The game is single-player; changing platform does not add co-op.
